almost as good as vlc, sometimes even better, but with a lot better interface.

I like both KMPlayer and GOM and both are featured on my website. However...GOM's keyboard shortcuts are just the tops and way too fast to access. E,R T,Y U,I O,P quickly adjust the video brightness, contrast, color and saturation. Don't be gentle with them and you can perfectly correct your video extremely fast. GOM Player is my default video player.

I've just found Songbird which is an open-source itunes replacement and it is amazing - it is build upon mozilla so you can install addons to it and you can browse the web from within it (you wouldn't use it as a browser) as it automatically finds songs on a webpage and lets you download them.
VLC is a great video player yet confusing to use.
